Developers won’t market something not in demand.
Most see deed restrictions as very beneficial to a neighborhood and admittedly don’t bother to read what they agreed to and were provided (shocked when called out).
The restrictions usually follow widely standardized templates and are not normally a problem until someone thinks only their opinion counts or the “too busy to care” owners elect a bunch of over zealous control freaks.
Always amused by the people who buy into an HOA, but demand special accommodations -extra flag poles, weird exterior paint colors, farm in the front yard…
But I’m special seems to be the rallying cry. Fine. Go be special on 40 acres in Kansas.

Poor Wingfield. Like most Trump voters, he hasn’t realized those jobs are gone and never coming back. What’s more, they’re going to continue to leave especially from rural areas.
Rural Trump supporters may have to come to grips as the government subsidies grow and become increasingly apparent. The anger is only going to increase when everyone knows they’re moochers on the government teat.
