Candidates for mayor should be talking about crime and wasteful spending such as 100 million dollars+ on Philips Arena.
I know you don’t care about the specifics but Atlanta isn’t spending all that money just on Philips Arena. It’s a redevelopment of the entire area around it which, I’m not sure if you’ve noticed, is awful and an even worse use of space.
In other words: they have an anchor project for a much-needed overhaul of a blighted area, which is exactly what cities should be looking for.
This deal mainly benefits the Hawks which is why Vincent Fort and Cathy Woolard criticized it. Any improvements to The Gulch and/or surrounding area are speculative.
A mixed-use development over what is literally a giant hole, everyone benefits.
I’m honestly shocked that you’d put weight into any of Fort’s criticisms. He’d yell at the sun for rising in the east if he thought he could score points.

So because there were no firm plans as soon as the redevelopment was announced where all parties said they were going to do a mixed-use development and the RFP process was opened when the announcement was made you’re going to write it off completely.
You’re not choosing policy over personality. You’re cherrypicking something to suit your ideals or being conned. Don’t care which and I’m not going further down the rabbit hole with you on this.
Woolard is also against while most of the other candidates want to see the details. If you know the details on this redevelopment you should publicize them. Blindly accepting a deal, particularly when it involves government, is not advisable.

Again, another attempt to de-legitimize Trump.
No effort has ever been made to say the content of Podesta’s email were made up. They weren’t. The info in those emails showed DNC and media in bed together against Trump. Everyone thought it. Now they knew it. The Dem tactics and facts were exposed to the light of day and the folks then voted against Hilly. And the hack also showed the DNC was against Sanders. Basically, the truth hurt them…Again, underhanded Dem tactics. This “fake” outrage is childish and unproductive.
Did you even read the article? I realize all along the party line has been that all of these stories are “underhanded Dem tactics” as you say or what Brietbart has labeled “left-wing fake news”. Reince Priebus was quoted by ABC News the day before this article with “The entire report is based on unnamed sources who are perhaps doing something they shouldn’t be doing by speaking to reporters or speaking out of line…” Yet this article has this quote from a so-so named source: “There shouldn’t be any doubt in anybody’s mind,” Adm. Michael S. Rogers, the director of the National Security Agency and commander of United States Cyber Command, said at a postelection conference. “This was not something that was done casually, this was not something that was done by chance, this was not a target that was selected purely arbitrarily,” he said. “This was a conscious effort by a nation-state to attempt to achieve a specific effect.”
Now I’ve also read National Review, The American Conservative, hell, even Hassinger here all using that delegitimize buzzword. But the worst thing Trump’s advisors could do at this point is to continue disavowing that this is an issue. There is nothing or anywhere other than fake news sites indicating any involvement of the Trump team. It appears all he did was accept the hearty endorsements of Putin and I realize it will be difficult to back down from that heat-of-the-campaign reaction. Especially since the man seems to do this type of thing with a snap judgement sometimes without considering the full political ramifications. If this goes on without some condemnation from him or his staff however it will only fester and at best any and all future relations with Russia will be suspect.
Any comments on the way the Dems screwed Bernie? That was also in the emails.

A similarly interesting read about US influence in a certain foreign election…seems to be an issue facing all countries. Only difference is the US under Obama tried to defeat a leader of a major ally where Russia (if they actually are the culprits) was messing around in a former cold war enemy’s election.

Did you actually read the substance of the article? There’s a vast difference between a civil society grant that unintentionally goes to electioneering because someone failed to put conditions on it, and a deliberate act of espionage against a foreign power. If Obama was trying to defeat Netanyahu, a six-figure grant to an obscure activist group isn’t how you do it.

We now have “Conservatives” and former Republican hawks encouraging that we soften up on Russia and that misunderstood teddy bear Putin. Should we strike up The World Turned Upside Down?
