The world gets ugly when both parties think they can redefine equality from freedom to pursue economic dreams to a government guarantee of economic outcomes. Neither party today favors equality as defined by MLK.

Trial (plead guilty) and sentence (1 year for each girl) for the truck driver who killed the 5 GSU students last year.

While that seems like a light sentence for five counts of 1st degree vehicular homicide, I’m guessing the reason is that he was texting and not breaking a law society that sees as more egregious. If he was under the influence, I think he might have gotten 20-30 years. Plus, the trucking company is settling with the families for something like 70M even though that isn’t going to bring any of those girls back.

When doing research on this execution, I googled “John Wayne Connor.” One result was a yacht, formerly belonging to John Wayne, on display in La Connor, WA. La Connor is the home of Tom Robbins, the author of “Even Cowgirls get the blues.”

Reading these sentences from the Zika link makes me feel very tired.
“The Senate overwhelmingly approved a compromise $1.1 billion bill in May, but when it was returned to the chamber last month, House Republicans in a conference committee had inserted provisions unrelated to Zika that Democrats have long opposed.
