WASHINGTON—House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) today announced that members of the Select Committee on Benghazi will deliver the Weekly Republican Address onSaturday, July 2. In the address, Chairman Trey Gowdy (R-SC), Rep. Lynn Westmoreland (R-GA), and Rep. Susan Brooks (R-IN) will discuss the select committee’s new report, which details new information with regards to the September 2012 terrorist attack that killed four Americans.

“Chris Stevens, Sean Smith, Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods were heroes who gave their lives in service to our country, and their courage and bravery should be honored,” Chairman Gowdy said. “I simply ask the American people to read this report for themselves, look at the evidence we have collected, and reach their own conclusions. This report can be read in less time than our fellow citizens were taking fire and fighting for their lives on the rooftops and in the streets of Benghazi.”

“By interviewing more than 80 witnesses who had never before been questioned by Congress, and obtaining more than 75,000 pages of new documents, the committee was able to issue a report that finally provides answers for the families of the victims and for all Americans,” Speaker Ryan said after the report’s release. “We must ensure that those who hold positions of responsibility do better for the men and women who serve in harm’s way.”
