On this date in 1858, in a speech in Springfield, Illinois, Senate candidate Abraham Lincoln said the slavery issue had to be resolved. He declared, “A house divided against itself cannot stand.” Certainly not the first or last instance of campaign rhetoric.

Facebook-end of written word – just this morning in reading a Facebook blog a lady posted that she did not read or watch mainstream media and had just heard that the alligator attack on a child at Disney was a hoax. Did anybody know the truth ? She was responded to by video postings.
She wouldn’t recognize the truth if it was on georgiapol….where it is, of course.

Obviously there is plenty of room for cuts.
Does anybody have a link for Roy Barnes’ column this week in the Marietta Daily Journal about the SPLOST law – that isn’t behind pay-block? If so, please share. He’s the last living author of the law, and I’d love to read his explanation of the origins for this thing we hear so much about these days.
