WGST-GeorgiaPol.com Radio, 1-22-16 Edition

Today is Friday and that means radio. Even if we have to interrupt the round-the-clock reports of “It might snow”.

Today in Studio we’re going to have Jon Richards and Stefan Turkheimer break down this week’s events under Georgia’s Gold Dome. And late in the broadcast we’re planning on an in-studio visit from The Mayor.

That’s right. Bowman Georgia Mayor Pete Gibbons will be stopping by to teach me how to pronounce “Bowman”. He’s a regular reader & listener. I’m told he may also have some local news that needs breaking.

As for the first few segments of the show, Stefan and Jon will let me know if churches will still be open this weekend given that various bills to protect my religion haven’t yet passed the General Assembly. They’ll probably have a bit more than that snarky observation as to what the flood of new religious themed bills would do, wouldn’t do, and which if any may have a chance at becoming law.

I’m probably going to have a few minutes on how bad stats make worse policy decisions, this time about a proposal to politicize the Board of Regents.

If we run out of Legislative news, we’ll probably spend a minute or three on the developing race for Georgia’s 3rd Congressional seat, and maybe a minute or three on where the Presidential race stands.

All that and…isn’t that enough, really? But there will likely be more. Noon today on 640AM or you can get WGST at this link right here.
