Flanked by legislative allies, Senator Mike Crane announced his candidacy for the 3rd Congressional District vacated by retiring Congressman Lynn Westmoreland.

Surrounded by Representative David Stover and Senators Marty Harbin, Bruce Thompson, Bill Heath, Josh McKoon, and William Ligon, Senator Crane was praised as one who will “bring comfort to the afflicted and afflict the comfortable.” Senator McKoon urged 3rd District conservatives to unite around the new candidate, claiming that forces under the Gold Dome seemed to divide them.

Poking fun at the uncertainty regarding which legislator was announcing, Senator McKoon announced his own campaign for re-election.

Senator Crame framed his campaign around the image of a broken Washington. Criticizing the relative weakness of the US House of Representatives, he praised a “small but effective” group working to restore the perceived Constitutional balance. These representatives are “calling for reinforcements” and he intends to answer the call.
